Nescafe Dolce Guesto Capsule system

Dolce Gusto means sweet taste in Italian, and it is also the sister brand to Nespresso. Nescafé Dolce Gusto is in many ways a better solution than the Nespresso coffee makers because the Nespresso Dolce Gusto machines are more versatile when it comes to the variety of drinks.

Both systems brew coffee in capsules that are made with espresso pressure, but the pressure level in the Nespresso machines use up to 19 bar pressure, where the Nescafé Dolce Gusto machines use up to 15 bar pressure. The brew pressure difference does make a difference in quality, so if you want better tasting coffee, then the Nespresso products are better suited to you.

The advantage with Nescafé Dolce Gusto is that it is possible to make more product variances (i.e. cold drinks and tea), and the coffee pods are available in retail distribution, where Nespresso products are only available online and in dedicated Nespresso stores.

The biggest drawback of the Nespresso Dolce Gusto system is that the milk based drinks capsules are made using powder milk, and this is not a quality booster. If good quality milk based drinks, such as latté and cappuccino, are important to you, then it is recommended that you look for one of the Nespresso models (Lattissima or Grand Maestia) that can brew using fresh milk, or perhaps a regular espresso maker.

The price level for the Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee makers are between $40 and $230.
